Cluster sizing for AAP Starter Kit
The pattern runs on a single OpenShift hub cluster.
The following table lists minimum sizes that support the default minimal-aap variant.
Variants that add OpenShift Data Foundation, automation hub, or Automation Orchestrator need more capacity.
On AWS, m5.4xlarge worker instances are a practical starting point for hub and complete variants.
| Node role | Count | CPU | Memory | Storage |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Control plane | 3 | 4 vCPU | 16 GB | 100 GB |
Worker | 3 | 8 vCPU | 32 GB | 200 GB |
Variant sizing notes
| Variant | Additional capacity considerations |
|---|---|
| Baseline AAP controller and Vault footprint |
| OpenShift Data Foundation StorageSystem and automation hub; plan for RWX-backed volumes |
| CloudNativePG PostgreSQL volumes and Automation Orchestrator pods |
| Combined hub, Lightspeed, ODF, CNPG, and Orchestrator requirements |
